Custom pronunciations help ensure your videos sound natural and professional - especially when AI voiceovers mispronounce brand names, product terms, or acronyms (for example, pronouncing “Zenious” as “Zen-ious”). Zenious lets you define how specific words should be spoken so they are pronounced correctly and consistently across your video narration.
Zenious provides two methods for adding or editing custom pronunciations:
Directly within your project
Global Settings Menu
You can follow the steps below to quickly add or update a custom pronunciation.
If you notice a word is pronounced incorrectly while editing your project, you can quickly set a custom pronunciation from the project interface.
To add a custom pronunciation within a project
Double-click the word that is pronounced incorrectly in your project.
The context menu appears with pronunciation options.
Select Say As from the context menu.
Zenious displays the word and its current pronunciation.
Click the speaker icon to listen to the current pronunciation.

Note: For example, the word may be pronounced as "Zen ious."
Type the desired phonetic spelling in the provided field.
The new pronunciation is entered for the selected word.
Press the speaker button to preview the updated pronunciation.
Zenious plays back the word using your custom pronunciation.
