Cursor Smoothing automatically refines cursor movements in your screen recording, creating smoother, more professional product videos.

Important: Cursor Smoothing is available only when recording a using the Tab Area option in the the Zenious Chrome extension.

Before You Begin

Before recording with Cursor Smoothing, keep the following requirements in mind:

• Launch the Zenious recorder from the exact browser tab you want to record.

• Select Tab Area as the recording region.

• Enable Cursor Smoothing before you begin recording.

• Remain on the same browser tab throughout the recording.

• Do not refresh the page while recording.

• Cursor Smoothing currently supports recordings up to Full HD. 2K recording is not supported.

• When Cursor Smoothing is enabled, Zenious captures the entire browser tab. You cannot manually adjust the recording area.
  
  Important: Always navigate to the page you want to capture before launching the Zenious recorder. Cursor Smoothing records the browser tab from which the recorder is launched.

To Record a Video with Cursor Smoothing

1. Open the browser tab you want to record.

2. Launch the Zenious Chrome extension from that tab.

3. Select Tab Area as the recording region.
   
   

4. Click Show More Options.

5. Enable Cursor Smoothing.

   Important: When Cursor Smoothing is enabled, the entire browser tab is selected for recording.
   
   

6. Click Start Recording.

   A message appears confirming that only the current page will be recorded.
   
   

7. Click Allow to begin recording.

8. Perform the workflow you want to capture.

   Zenious automatically smooths your cursor movements as you navigate through the application.

   Note: The Zenious recording toolbar that you see while recording is automatically hidden from the captured video and does not appear in the final output.

9. When you have completed the workflow, click Stop.

Zenious processes the recording and opens the page that you can use to either export the recording or process the recording in Zenious.

Hide the Cursor in Selected Portions of the Video

You can use this option to hide the cursor during specific portions of the video. This can be particularly useful around clicks or other interactions where the original cursor and smoothened cursor may both become visible.
Important: The Cursor tab is available in the Editor only for recordings captured using the Zenious plug-in with Cursor Smoothing enabled.

To Hide the Cursor

1. Open the Cursor tab in the editor.

2. Click Hide Cursor Here.
   
   

3. Select the time range (by modifying the range or adjusting the pill) during which you want the cursor to remain hidden.
   The cursor is hidden for the selected portion of the video.
   
   

With Cursor Smoothing and cursor visibility controls, you can create cleaner screen recordings while retaining control over exactly when the cursor appears in your final video.
