Create and Personalize Explainer Videos in Zenious

Explainer videos are an effective way to communicate the "what" and "why" of a topic, making them ideal for training, product overviews, and feature launches. Zenious enables you to quickly generate and customize explainer videos, either by letting Zenious create content for you or by using your own script. You can further personalize your video with branding, voice options, and layout adjustments.

Combining explainer videos with product workflow videos can provide a comprehensive "what, why, and how" learning experience.
Note: You can use Zenious's Insert Video workflow to insert an Explainer Video into your product workflow video.

During the beta phase, explainer videos are presentation-style only, and you can export them without using any credits. Animation and advanced graphics features will be available soon.

To create and personalize an explainer video in Zenious

Select the Explainer Video option on the Zenious dashboard.
The explainer video creation interface appears.
Enter your topic in the provided field (e.g., "how role-based access control works in SaaS applications").
The topic is set for your explainer video.
(Optional) Paste your prepared script into the script area.
Your script will be used to generate the explainer video.
Note: If you do not have a script, Zenious will generate one based on your topic.
Click Generate.
Zenious creates an explainer video using automatic settings if no customizations are made.
(Optional) Click Settings to customize your video.

The settings panel opens, allowing you to adjust various options.
a. Adjust the video duration.
b. Choose the level of creativity.
c. Select a tone that matches your script or audience.
d. Pick a template for your explainer video.

e. Select from predefined brand colors or add custom brand colors.
f. Choose the narrative type (e.g., feature launch, training lesson, product overview), or leave it on auto for Zenious to select.
g. Select a voice for your video.

h. Enable background music and adjust its volume.
i. Use the pronunciation dictionary to review or add custom pronunciations for specific terms.
Note: Customizing these options helps tailor the video to your brand and audience.
Click Save Settings.
Your custom settings are saved for the video generation process.
Click Generate to proceed.
Zenious analyzes your input and prepares a plan for your explainer video.
(Optional) Respond to any optional questions Zenious may prompt.
Providing answers helps Zenious refine your content further.
Note: These questions are designed to improve the accuracy and relevance of your video.
Review the list of scenes Zenious plans to use for your video.
The planned scenes are displayed for your review.
(Optional) Click Edit Brief to adjust scenes or add more details.
You can make changes to the planned scenes before generating the video.
Click Generate Video when ready.
Zenious creates a presentation-style video with organized scenes, layouts, and visuals based on your input.
(Optional) Edit the voice over transcript as needed.

You can update the text and choose to update the slide by clicking Save and Match Slide—Zenious will adjust the content and layout accordingly.
After processing, (Optional) switch to a different template (e.g., Fresh Flow) by navigating to the Design tab, insert your logo (Logo tab), and enable or disable background music (Music tab).
Your video reflects the new template, branding, and audio settings.
(Optional) Click Edit Scene to select and update text in the slide directly.

You can change the font style and size to match your preferences.
(Optional) Click the plus icon to add a new section to your template.
A new editable section is generated.
(Optional) Use the chat option to request changes (e.g., adding a new section called "Publish").
Zenious confirms the change, and you can review and apply it.
Go to the Layout tab to adjust the layout style (e.g., switch to a bullet list format).
The video layout updates to your selected style.
Preview your changes and ensure you are satisfied with the results.
The video preview reflects all recent edits and customizations.
Click Done Editing.
Your video is finalized and ready for export.
Export your video in your preferred format, choosing to export all scenes or just a selected range.
The video file is generated and ready for use.
