Insert a Video into your Project

Insert a Video into your Project

Inserting a video into your project allows you to update, enhance, or customize your video by adding new content - such as animated segments or additional screen recordings - at any point in your existing project. This is especially useful when you need to update sections, add new information, or combine multiple video sources. Adding videos can help keep your project current and engaging for your audience.

You can insert a video either between scenes or within a specific scene. This procedure also explains how to undo a video insertion using version history.

To insert a video into your project

  1. Decide where you want to insert the video.

You can insert a video either between scenes or within a scene, depending on your project needs.

Note: Inserting between scenes is useful for adding new segments, while inserting within a scene is ideal for updating or enhancing specific moments.

  2. (Option 1) To insert a video between scenes, hover your mouse between two scenes.

    The Add Scene option appears.

  3. Click Add Scene (+ icon).

An upload prompt appears, allowing you to select the video you want to insert between scenes.

  5. From the context menu, select Video, then click Insert.

The insert screen appears, which is the same for both insertion methods.

  6. On the insert screen, select the video file you want to insert.

A preview of the video appears, allowing you to play and check exactly where the video will be added.

  7. Drag and position the video as needed to fit your requirements.

The video moves to your chosen location within the project.

  8. (Optional) Use the Trim option to shorten the inserted video, or the Crop option to change its frame.

These edits apply only to the inserted video.

Note: Trimming and cropping help you include only the relevant parts of the video.

  9. Once satisfied with the position and edits, click Continue.

The next screen displays three processing options for the inserted video.

  10. Review the three processing options and select one:

    - Process with Zenious: Zenious will transcribe the video's narration, rewrite it, generate an AI voice, sync, and insert it.

    - Use video only: Adds the video without any audio.

    - Insert as is: Adds the video without any processing or changes from Zenious.

The selected processing method will be applied to your inserted video.

Note: Choose the option that best fits your project needs.

  11. Zenious begins to process and insert the video.

Note: Depending on the video's length, this may take a few moments or minutes.

  12. When the video is inserted, close the window showing the success message.

The video is now part of your project.

  13. Review the editability of the scene:

    - If you selected Insert as is, the scene becomes locked for editing.

    - If you used Process with Zenious or Use video only, the scene remains editable.

Important: Locked scenes cannot be edited further unless you revert the change.

To undo a video insert using version history

  1. Go to the video title and access Version History.

The version history panel opens, displaying a list of saved versions.

  2. Find the change you made by expanding the list to see the version saved before you inserted the clip.

The previous version is displayed for review.

  3. Preview the previous version and restore it by clicking the Restore button or the Restor link.

The project reverts to the state before the video was inserted.

Note: Restoring a previous version will remove any changes made after that point, including the inserted video.
