Version History

Version History

Version history in Zenious helps you manage changes to your video projects, especially when making multiple edits or collaborating with others. This feature automatically creates checkpoints at key moments, such as when you process a video for the first time, perform an audio-video sync, or make significant edits like inserting, swapping, or trimming segments. You can also manually save a version at any stage to safeguard your progress.

To access and use version history

  1. Click the project title at the top of your Zenious workspace.

    The project dropdown menu appears.

  2. Select Version History from the dropdown menu.

The version history panel opens, displaying your current version.

  3. Review the list of previously saved versions in the panel.

All auto-saved and manually saved versions are shown, along with the initials of the user who made each change and the time it was made.

Note: Zenious automatically saves versions when you process a video for the first time, perform an audio-video sync, or insert, swap, or trim video segments.

  4. (Optional) Expand any version in the list to view more details.

You can see when the version was saved and additional context, such as whether it was auto-saved before an audio-video sync.

  5. (Optional) Preview any version by selecting it.

The selected version loads in preview mode so you can review its contents before restoring.

  6. (Optional) Restore a previous version.

If the previewed version meets your needs, click Restore or use the provided link to revert your project to that version.

Your project reverts to the selected version, discarding changes made after that point.

Important: Restoring a version will overwrite your current project state with the selected version.

  7. (Optional) Manually save a new version.

    a. Click +Save in the version history panel.
